Cherry Grove Collections is a poetry publisher dedicated to the art of lyric in poetry. We seek to publish collections that sing the essential human songs of our times.
Cherry Grove Collections publishes books chiefly through two competitions. The first, Lyre: A Poetry Series, has an annual deadline of March 15. The second, The Cherry Grove Prize, has an annual deadline of June 15. For each competition, submit a full-length manuscript (minimum of 48 pages), a $20 reading fee payable to Cherry Grove Collections, and your e-mail address for notification. Our first collection is Love's Funeral by Eve Wood. These understated poems navigate dark emotional landscapes with a cool interiority and establish this book, Wood's first, as an outstanding debut. Wood's poems have appeared in such publications as The Best American Poetry, 1997, The New Republic, Poetry, Triquarterly, and elsewhere. Love's Funeral will appear from Cherry Grove Collections in the summer of 2003.
